Welcome

Meridian Institute is a non-profit organization dedicated to researching holistic and integrative approaches to wellness and healing. Our research focuses on various modalities and systems including the holistic philosophy of Edgar Cayce, traditional osteopathy, chiropractic, herbal medicine, mind-body healing, and spiritual transformation. We hope that our research will contribute to the integration of mainstream medicine with alternative medicine and holistic modalities.

PROJECTS
Meridian Institute has conducted pilot research projects on numerous conditions, including disease conditions such as Parkinson’s disease and asthma as well as the basic science of nervous system coordination.

ELECTRONIC LIBRARY
The electronic library contains thousands of pages of health information from the classic texts of the 19th and early 20th century medical literature, in addition to recent Meridian Institute publications including peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters and papers presented at professionals meetings.

NEWSLETTER
The Newsletter archive contains back issues of these publications from 1997 – 2004. The newsletters provide summaries of research projects with embedded links to the full reports, reviews from the medical literature, and healing anecdotes. Many of the back issues are in Adobe Acrobat (pdf) format for easy viewing and printing. The reports in these newsletters provide a sense of continuity in the progression of research programs and findings.

MANUAL THERAPY
We have made notable progress in researching and applying various forms of manual therapy, particularly traditional osteopathy. Visit the Manual Therapy page for articles, book chapters, and links to numerous resources on manual therapy.
